Grants and Funding

KDOT’s Planning and Programming (P&P) Grants provide resources to assist communities throughout the state in creating their SRTS plans, which can both help them plan for future SRTS efforts and build community momentum around walking, biking, and rolling to school. The next opportunity to apply for P&P Grants is currently scheduled for April 2026. Sign up for our e-newsletter to be the first to know when the next cycle opens!

To learn more, read the P&P Grants Overview, watch the informational webinar, review a Q&A, or contact SRTS Coordinator Ann Katt at ann.katt@ks.gov.

Grant Writing Assistance and Support

University of Kansas - Center for Public Partnerships & Research offers grant writing assistance and support. In February 2025, we held a webinar for nonprofit organizations, state associations or coalitions, school districts, state agencies, and tribal councils in Kansas looking to build grant writing capacity and learn what it takes to prepare a successful proposal. Check out the presentation slide deck, watch the webinar, fill out the grant worksheet, and/or reach out to Jenny Memmott, Senior Grants Monitor, at jmemmott_sta@ku.edu for more information.
