Transportation Alternatives Call for Projects is open
The 2026 Transportation Alternatives (TA) Call for Projects is now open through the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Active Transportation Program. This year, $32 million is available for projects that improve safety for people walking, biking, and rolling. The first step in the TA process is submitting a Concept Paper, due February 27, 2026. Eligible applicants will then be invited to submit a full application by May 15, 2026. For a full timeline, visit the TA webpage.

The Kansas SRTS program recently launched our second Pedestrian Safety Lesson: Crossing Streets and Intersections! The Slide Deck and Facilitator Guide were designed to support educators in teaching students safe crossing habits.
